Man held over serious assault

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Kent Police following a serious assault in Knights Avenue at Canterbury in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The suspect, who was arrested on Monday evening, is being questioned by detectives.

A 41-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital as a result of the assault which happened between 1.30am and 2.45am in the car park of the recreation ground at Knights Avenue, on the London Road estate.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a motorbike in, or leaving, the estate at this time. Contact police on 01227 817039 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
