Man hit by car in Sturry Road, Canterbury, after being punched by driver

A man was punched before being hit by a car along a city main road.

The incident reportedly took place when a vehicle pulled in front of another and stopped at the junction between South Street and Sturry Road in Canterbury at about 10.15pm on Monday.

A man is then said to have got out of one of the cars and attacked the other driver through the window of his vehicle.

When the assailant returned to his vehicle, the victim got out of his motor and was reportedly driven at and injured.

Police say a 46-year-old man from the Canterbury area was later arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Paramedics were also called to the scene, but the victim did not need hospital treatment.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV or dashcam footage which might assist.
