A MAN was seriously hurt today in a pile-up involving five vehicles on the A2 between Canterbury and Dover at the Lydden turn-off.

Kent Police said it was thought a car heading towards London ended up on the coast-bound side and the other vehicles collided with it and each other.

The injured man was taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Police closed the road for a period.
