KENT Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has appealed for information after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the A28.

The biker was riding towards Canterbury on Wednesday night when he was in collision with another motorcycle travelling in the same direction near the Stour Valley Industrial Estate between Chartham and Thannington.

The 32-year-old victim, from the Ashford area, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Police say members of his family have been informed but his name has not yet been released. The other rider, also from the Ashford area, suffered minor injuries.

The collision was reported to police at 7.28pm and the road was closed shortly afterwards between Chartham Hatch and the Milton Manor roundabout at Thannington. PC Duncan Swallow from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has asked that any witnesses who have not already spoken to police should contact 01622 798538.
