Canterbury acid attack: Robbery victim sprayed in face in Hales Drive robbery

A man was robbed and had "noxious liquid" sprayed in his face in Canterbury last night.

Police are investigating the report which left the victim suffering from "discomfort" and his watch and cash were stolen.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm in Hales Drive when the victim, a man in his 20s, was walking towards Beverley Meadow and St Stephen's Road.

The suspect has been described as white of average height and possibly left the scene with a group of other people.

A police spokesman said: "Another man approached him and sprayed a clear, noxious liquid into his face from a container."

It came just hours before another alleged 'acid attack' in the city centre on Friday afternoon.
