Man arrested after traffic stopped and cars damaged on Island Road, Sturry

A man has been arrested after obstructing traffic and damaging several vehicles.

The 33-year-old is said to have stopped traffic on Island Road, Sturry, shortly after 6pm last night before damaging several cars around him.

During the incident, he smashed the windscreen of a bus and climbed onto a car bonnet.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and remains in custody.

"The incident is believed to have been recorded by several members of the public. They and any other witnesses are urged to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/197076/19."
