Officer allegedly stabbed after disturbance in York Road, Canterbury

A policeman is said to have been stabbed while dealing with a disturbance in Canterbury.
It happened in York Road in the early hours of Wednesday when officers were called to the scene.
While dealing with the incident an officer suffered an alleged stabbing to his leg and was taken to hospital. He was allowed home after treatment.
James Richards, 22, of York Road, Canterbury, was arrested and charged with affray and causing grievous bodily harm.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court.
