Pensioners wake to find masked men in their home in Rough Common, Canterbury.

A couple in their 90s were woken in the early hours by masked intruders in their home.

Two men wearing balaclavas broke into the property in Rough Common in Canterbury and were ransacking the property when they were disturbed by the owners.

They fled with cash, bank cards and jewellery and now police have issued an appeal to try and find the burglars.

It happened between 3am and 3.33am on Sunday when the pensioners raised the alarm.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kirsty Gee said: "Both men are described as being slim and were wearing balaclavas and black clothes. They spoke with English accents.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw or has CCTV footage of any suspicious vehicles or people in the area at the time."
