Canterbury Cathedral cat goes missing

Prayers are being said after a cat which normally makes its home around Canterbury Cathedral went missing.

The tabby cat, aged around 18 months, went walkies on Saturday and hasn't been seen since.

Lionel is one of around half a dozen moggies who live within the cathedral's precincts.

The cathedral first raised the alarm in a tweet in which staff appealed for help in finding the wandering cat.

Spokesman Christopher Robinson said: "We are keeping all our fingers and paws crossed."
