Police say a body found in the River Stour on Saturday was that of a missing Londoner.

Officers were called to the river close to Willow Close in Canterbury by a member of the public at 8pm.

The body has not been formally identified but police believe it to be Noel Cohen - the 38-year-old from Eltham whose work van was found abandoned in Barton Mill Road last Tuesday.

Mr Cohen was last seen by his former partner at his home on Saturday May 24.

Police found his mobile phone and other personal items in it.
