Thieves stole a woman's purse as she visited her mother's grave on Mother's Day.

The 47-year-old was approached near the back entrance to Canterbury Cemetery at around 3pm on Sunday.

A couple approached her asking for directions to town and, as the woman explained, she was pushed over and her bag was grabbed.

The man is described as aged 20 to 25, 6ft tall wearing a black knitted woollen hat, dark clothing and carrying a rucksack with a piece of wood sticking out of the top.
