MP raises phone 'health hazard'

CANTERBURY and Whitstable MP Julian Brazier is urging parliament to reopen the debate on the potential hazards of mobile phones.
He spoke out in the House of Commons after a mast was placed next to a school in Yorkshire. "We have one group of scientists telling us it is dangerous for children to walk around using mobile phones," Mr Brazier told the Commons.
"Yet we have legislation saying that it is safe to put a mobile phone transmitter, millions of times more powerful, next to a primary school."
After the debate, Mr Brazier accused the Government of failing to allay people's fears over the potential dangers of mobile phone technology.
