Caught short at the end of a working day, this white van man appeared to resort to drastic action to relieve himself.

He pulled over on the Rheims Way bus lane in Canterbury and faced the wall while using his van to shield himself from other drivers.

But barmaid Lauren Rodgers and her friend were stuck in the slow-moving rush hour traffic on Tuesday night and spotted him.

Caught short? This van white van relieves himself on one of Canterbury's busiest roads.

The 28-year-old from Wincheap said: "We were positioned some way behind and I thought it was bit stupid for someone to pull over on the bus lane.

"But I couldn't believe it when he got out and stood there."

Traffic is notoriously slow between the Riding Gate and Wincheap roundabouts at rush hour and is being slowed further this month by Southern Water pipework.
