New hall takes shape, thanks to volunteers

Two hundred people gave their weekend to help build a new base for their worship.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses spent four days of heavy labour at Sullivan Close in Wincheap.

They put up walls and a roof on the hall next to a car park made from 20,000 blocks over previous weeks.

The group has outgrown its previous site in Oaten Hill Place which was also built by volunteers half a century ago.

The hall is expected to be finished this weekend.
