Bomb threat at Cuban nightclub in Canterbury sparks evacuation

A nightclub was evacuated in the early hours of the morning after a drunk man made a hoax bomb threat.

Revellers at The Cuban in High Street, Canterbury, were filed out onto the street after staff were told there was explosive on site.

The police were called shortly before 2am on Friday and carried out a search of the building, but nothing suspicious was found.

A 20-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested at the scene and later admitted making a false report to staff.

He was fined £90 for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
