The Gazette and Faversham News is once again helping to cut the queues into Whitstable during the Oyster Festival this weekend (July 23 and 24).

The KM Group, which owns the series, is giving its car park at its offices on the Estuary View business park opposite Mariners View, Whitstable, over to Canterbury City Council so that they can operate a park-and-ride scheme on Saturday and Sunday.

Editor Leo Whitlock said: "We are very proud of the fact we are still based in the district and are happy to do all we can to help out."

On Saturday, the park-and-ride scheme will operate from 10am to 9pm stopping at the harbour only.

On Sunday, the scheme will operate from 10am to 7pm stopping at the Horsebridge only.

Buses are set to run every 15 minutes and customers should pay the driver.

Adults will be charged £1 for adults and 50p for children. Those under five will travel for free.
