Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on the A291 at Calcott Hill, which happened shortly before 4.30pm

The 59-year-old man, who suffered head and leg injuries, was stabilised by ambulance crews at the scene before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate where his condition this afternoon was described as 'critical but stable'.
