Pedestrian struck by car in intensive care

A YOUNG man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a collision with a car in a Kent city.

The man, who is in his 20s, was struck by a Citreon C3 on the A28 in Canterbury, near the Audi garage, just before 8pm last night. He suffered serious head and leg injuries.

The car was being driven by a 26-year-old woman.

The man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition in the Intensive Treatment Unit.

Police closed the road until 1.40am this morning while officers examined the scene.
