Man and woman arrested after officers bitten and headbutted at Canterbury East train station

Two people are in custody after they allegedly launched a violent attack against transport police.

One officer was bitten and another was headbutted during the ordeal at Canterbury East train station last night.

The officers had to call for urgent assistance due to the aggression shown towards them by the violent pair.

Incapacitate spray was used to subdue the duo.

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of trespass, assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderedly.

British Transport Police (BTP) were originally called to a concern for a person at the station along with Kent police.

Kent police were called to the station at 7.47pm.
