A police helicopter was called to help search for the driver of a pick-up which crashed in a country lane early today.

It happened in Hollow Street at Chislet near Canterbury shortly before 5am when the Mazda left the road and ended up on its side in a ditch.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene but there was no sign of the driver and the force's helicopter was scrambled to survey the area in case he was injured nearby.
