Man assaulted in London Road, Canterbury prompting police and ambulance response

Police cordoned off a street after a man was attacked in Canterbury.

Officers and paramedics were called to London Road at about 10.15am after the victim was assaulted.

Ambulance service spokesman Richard Airey confirmed the man was assessed and treated at the scene, for what is thought to be minor injuries.

Police are thought to have taped off New Street while they dealt with the incident.

The force has confirmed it is carrying out enquiries.

Caroline Dabiran posted on social media a PCSO visited her home in London Road, to ask if she had seen anything.

"I hadn’t and she wouldn’t elaborate," she said.

"Could see two fire engines, police van, police car and two ambulances on London road. Weird."
