Attempted knifepoint robbery at Martyrs Field Store corner shop in Canterbury

Police are hunting a bearded knifeman who held up a corner shop in Canterbury.

The raider threatened a worker with a knife and demanded money from the till at Martyrs Field Store in Martyrs' Field Road.

The victim was not injured and the suspect fled empty-handed.

Police now want witnesses to the attempted robbery, which happened at 9.30pm last night.

The suspect was white, 5ft 9, in his late teens or early 20s and had a beard. He was wearing a grey hooded top, a grey coat and jeans.
