Police hunt 'carjacking' gunman

A MOTORIST was forced from his vehicle by a man armed with a handgun in Canterbury.

The gunman stopped the Mazda sports car in Kingsmead Road in the early hours of Sunday and pointed the weapon at the 23-year-old driver who complied with his demands and got out.

The offender drove off but the vehicle was later found crashed in Cockering Road, Thanington.

Shortly afterwards two women in a Renault 19 were threatened by the same man as their vehicle was parked by the roadside in Wincheap. But they refused to leave the car and drove off.

The offender in both incidents is described as a being aged around 18 and 5ft 10in tall with dark brown hair. He was was wearing a dark blue tracksuit top and bottom.
