Lorry driver killed in A2 bridge crash near Canterbury named

Henryk Konopacki died after his lorry hit a bridge on the A2

A man who died after crashing his lorry into a bridge on the A2 near Canterbury has today been named as Henryk Konopacki.

The 56-year-old, from Poland, was travelling London-bound in a red Renault artic lorry when he collided with a concrete bridge support just past the Barham slip road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after the smash at 1.30pm last Tuesday.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and asking anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Scott Lynch said: "I am appealing for any witnesses who were travelling London-bound along the A2 who might have seen this collision or anyone who saw the lorry on its travels after it left Dover Docks at about 1pm."
