Canterbury Police officer Thomas Hill to appear in court, accused of attempting to form inappropriate relationship

A police officer from Kent is set to appear in court, accused of attempting to form an inappropriate relationship with a woman he met through policing duties.

PC Thomas Hill, 35, based at Canterbury, has been charged with misconduct in a public office following an offence which dates back to December 2020.

PC Hill was based in Canterbury

The Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) began investigating after receiving a mandatory conduct referral from the force.

In April last year, the IOPC completed its investigation and sent a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, which authorised the charge.

PC Hill will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 20.
