Police cordon off woodland opposite One Stop shop in Tenterden Drive, Canterbury after concerns for man

Police have sealed off woodland in Canterbury after concerns were raised for a man's welfare.

It has since been confirmed a body was found at the scene on the corner of Tenterden Drive and The Terrace, on the city's Hales Place estate.

Officers are guarding the cordon and were called to the scene, opposite the One Stop convenience store, just after 10am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police is currently attending Tenterden Drive in Canterbury following concern for a man.

"Officers were called to the area at 10.06am on Wednesday 11 January 2023."

Police were seen extending the cordon to cover a wider area at about 11am.
