A total of 1,475 homes are without power in Canterbury following a technical fault on underground cables.

The homes, understood to be in the Sturry district, fell into darkness at about 11am, prompting UK Power Networks engineers to rush to the area.

Engineers, who are working on the fault, hope to have power restored within the next two-hours.
