PRINCE Michael of Kent is due in Canterbury on Friday to unveil a statue of Kent’s Anglo-Saxon ruler King Ethelbert.

The unveiling will take place on Lady Wootton’s Green just before 1pm and will be preceded by promenade plays and medieval music at St Augustine’s Abbey quadrangle from 11.50am.

These events and the unveiling are open to the public. The statue of Ethelbert’s wife Bertha will be unveiled by the French Consul General.
