A search has been launched for two men after rings, a laptop and tablet computer were stolen in two burglaries in Canterbury.

Police believe the raids, which took place in Tyler Hill last week, are linked to an attempted break-in in Hackington Road.

The first was at a home in Salisbury Road between 4pm and 7.30pm on Thursday.

Burglars broke glass in the front door to get inside the property and stole a tablet computer, Acer laptop, men’s watch, lighter and headphones, among other things.

Four rings were also taken from a house in Hackington Road between 5pm on Tuesday and 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

Along the same street, two men were seen trying to break into a summer house in a back garden just after 10.45am on Friday.

They ran away when challenged, driving off in a white Ford Transit that had two ladders on its roof.

One of the men was described as fair-haired and wearing dark clothing, while the second is said to have dark hair and a green padded jacket.

Officers are asking anyone with information to call 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/6354/18, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
