Stabbing: Man charged with murder

VICTIM: Jemma Loder

A COMPUTER technician has been charged with the murder of Jemma Loder. Christopher Douglas-Seath, 33, of North Holmes Road, Canterbury, appeared before city magistrates on Monday and was remanded in custody.

He is also accused of the attempted murder of 24-year-old Sebastian Lee and 25-year-old Christopher Wintle.

Miss Loder, 24, who worked with people with learning difficulties, died in Kent and Canterbury Hospital from stab injuries following an incident at a flat in the city's Northgate on Saturday, December 18.

Mr Wintle and Mr Lee also suffered stab wounds and were in hospital for several days. Both have now been discharged.

Miss Loder lived with her parents, Bob and Jan Loder in Priest Avenue, Canterbury, and worked for the MCCH Society.

She was a former pupil of Canterbury High School and well known on the local music scene as an amateur DJ.

Douglas-Seath will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, January 7.
