The stepson of a man killed in a crash on the old Thanet Way has pleaded for witnesses to come forward.

Devastated Lloyd Quigley, 22, appealed for help after Bryn Williams, 42, was knocked off his bike at the junction with the Stillwater Park housing estate.

The former paratrooper died at the scene after colliding with a Seat Leon pulling out of Flamingo Drive, on October 13.

Lloyd said: “Although it won’t bring Bryn back, knowing exactly what happened will give us peace of mind and we ask anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police.

“They might not think what they saw was important, but it could make a big difference to the investigation.”

Mr Williams was a customs officer with the UK Border Agency and lived in Deal with his wife Lisa and Lloyd.

He was an experienced motorcyclist who had ridden bikes all his adult life.

Lloyd said: “Bryn was a great guy with a big heart and his death has left a huge hole in our lives. He was like a father to me.”

Lisa added: “We are devastated by Bryn’s death – he was such a big and calming influence in our lives. But we have been overwhelmed by the support we have had from friends and family.”

Detective Sergeant Miles Bishop said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to call us.

“We would particularly like to hear from the driver of a red Ford Fiesta who, although we don’t believe was involved in the collision in any way, may be an important witness.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the investigation appeal line on 01622 798538.
