A string of burglaries hit one road in Canterbury last night.

Police are now investigating after the back doors of three homes in Deansway Avenue, Sturry were broken into - with jewellery being stolen from one address.

Detective sgt Brian Doughty said: "In all three burglaries the rear doors to the properties were forced and untidy searches were made. Jewellery has been reported stolen from one address.

"We ask anyone with information about the burglaries to phone the police on 01843 222289 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting reference number 11-1055."
