Two men arrested in Canterbury city centre on suspicion of peddling heroin

Two suspected drug dealers have been arrested in Canterbury after being caught with heroin.

Officers first detained a 28-year-old man from the Sittingbourne area in Broad Street last Wednesday and seized a quantity of wraps.

On Friday, a 30-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Military Road also in possession of wraps thought to be heroin.

He was also arrested on suspicion of theft and officers seized a mobile phone, cash and bank cards.

Both men have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Sergeant Graham Todd of the Community Policing Team, said: "These arrests were the latest action in our ongoing fight against illegal drugs.

"We take illegal drug use and supply extremely seriously and urge people worried about drugs in their neighbourhood to tell us so we can take action."
