A girl, who may be as young as nine, pushed a teenager to the ground during at attempted robbery in Whitstable.

The victim, aged 14, was walking near Cushing’s Walk around 10.15pm last Friday with a 15-year-old friend when they passed a group of young people.

The group was abusive before a girl, aged either nine or 10, wearing a white tracksuit pulled the girl to ground and tried to steal her handbag.

She held on and got away.
