Services between Faversham and Dover Priory were halted.

Network Rail tweeted: "We’ve had to stop trains at Canterbury East as a lorry has hit the road bridge just outside the station.

"The design of this bridge means we have to inspect it before we can open the line - really sorry for the delays."

Lines have now reopened after a Network Rail team assessed the bridge, but services running between Faversham and Dover Priory may still be cancelled or delayed.
