A man has been rescued after getting stuck up to his waist in mud in Herne Bay.

Firefighters were called to Reculver Lane yesterday afternoon where the man - who is thought to be in his early 50s - was trapped.

Crews managed to pull him to safety before being checked by paramedics.

Three fire engines were called at about 2.50pm and were at the scene until about 3.30pm.
