A tree fell on the railway track halting rush hour trains.

This was the latest in a number of incidents caused by recent gale force winds, which have seen travel disruptions across the county.

No trains were running from Canterbury West to Ramsgate.

Trains did run from Ramsgate towards Canterbury, but users of this service also had some delays.

A spokesman from Southeastern said: "The tree has been removed and the line at #CanterburyWest has now reopened. Trains can run on both lines again between Canterbury West and Ramsgate. There may still be some disruption in the area while we work to get services back on time."
