POLICE say vandals used a pumpkin to smash the window of a house in Strangers Lane at Canterbury.

The damage was caused at around 10pm on Monday after the householder had turned away a group of trick or treaters.

Moments later the window smashed and a piece of pumpkin came through the lounge window. It is reported that a pumpkin was also thrown at another house in the street but that incident did not break the window.
