A young woman who died off a city ring-road is thought to have been in her 20s.

Police were called to Rheims Way, Canterbury, shortly after 10pm on Wednesday night after they were alerted by ambulance crews.

Witnesses reportedly heard someone shouting: “Please hurry – they are blue and I don’t know what to do.”

Emergency crews at the scene

The woman - believed to be a rough sleeper known to local homelessness charities - was pronounced dead at the scene.

Forensic teams were said to have attended following the death, which is being treated as non-suspicious.

Details have been passed to the coroner, but a spokesman in the coroner’s office would not confirm if next of kin has been informed.
