Woman attacked in Herne Bay street before man walks away from Kings Road

A woman was punched by a stranger in a senseless attack... before walking calmly away.

The 24-year-old woman was walking along South Road in Herne Bay at 3am on Sunday, February 2 after a night out when she noticed a man walking behind her.

But, after turning into Kings Road she was stopped by the man opposite the Esso garage, who asked for directions to the train station.

The teen was arrested yesterday.

He then punched the woman in the face, bruising her eye, before walking off.

Now police are appealing for anyone who saw the attack to contact them.

The attacker is described as a white man, aged approximately 30 years old, 5ft 7ins tall with a local accent. He was wearing a black hooded top.
