Canterbury Christ Church University, which owns the site, confirmed the woman was one of its students.

Spokesman Jeanette Earl said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends, and we would like to remind all students and staff that help and advice is available through the university support services.

“Out of respect for the family, we will not be giving any further details at this time.”

The death - reported last Thursday evening - is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
