EAST KENT Crusaders Under-16 boys’ basketball team have won the Kent Active Sports Central Venue League Final Four play-offs for the second straight year.

Canterbury-based Crusaders beat Folkestone Saints 94-62 in the final game of the playoffs at the new £7 million Sennocke Centre at Sevenoaks School.

The champions were led throughout the day by inspirational play from Zac Maasbach and England hopeful Ryan Richards.

In the semi-finals, top-seeded Crusaders won 70-57 against hosts Sevenoaks Warriors, while the winners of the Western Conference, Greenwich Admirals, were upset 76-54 by Folkestone Saints, runners-up in the Eastern Conference.

Warriors beat the Admirals 95-57 for third place.

Graham Wilson, Kent Active sports co-ordinator, said: "The day was a great success. Sevenoaks School were fantastic hosts and the Crusaders worthy champions. It has been great to see the development of the sport at the top end over the past 12 months."
