MEL CLEWLOW: "All we can do is worry about winning our games"

CANTERBURY Hockey Club's ladies have an opportunity to break back into the EHL Premier One play-off places when they travel to Bowdown Hightown on Saturday.

The Liverpool side are immediately above Canterbury in fourth spot, but victory for Mel Clewlow's team could move them as high as third.

Clewlow admits Saturday is a big game for Canterbury, who won 7-0 over bottom club Sutton Coldfield at the weekend.

She said: "This is defeinitely a six-pointer for us because if we win we will be a point clear of Hightown and still with a game in hand. The league is so tight, everyone seems capable of beating each other and there are some big games over the next couple of weeks.

A back injury may rule out Tash Brennan for the Hightown match, and fellow forward Anna Bennett is also out, owing to college committments. Sarah Kent stands by.
