Canterbury Rugby Club head coach Andy Pratt says his side have every chance of being a force in National 2 South, so long as they can produce consistent performances.

The city club inflicted the first defeat of the season on high-flying Chinnor on Saturday to pull themselves into the top-half of the table.

Pratt’s side travel to Taunton on Saturday looking for a win which could establish them in the upper echelons of the table and Pratt said: “We are a capable team and we showed that against Chinnor.

“We could be a force in this division, if we could improve our consistency. If we play like that, we’ll pick up a lot of points.

“Taunton is always a tricky place to go and they put up a strong fight against Redruth last week but we have won there before and we’ll be trying to do it again.”

Full-back Martyn Beaumont, Alex Veale and Aiden Moss return to the fold for the trip to Somerset on Saturday but Ricky Mackintosh and Tom Best are unavailable.

Angus Furneaux (back) misses out.
