Clive Cook isn't finished with football management just yet.

Cook quit Canterbury following a breakdown in his relationship with the club's board.

He cited a lack of trust and ambition for his decision to walk away, following late payment of player wages and a budget cut.

Cook, who was followed out of City by the entire first-team squad, was ready to retire but quickly had a change of heart.

He said: "It's funny because on Thursday night I was thinking, 'Do you know what, I'm old, I'm going to knock it on the head' and then I woke up on Friday thinking, 'Let's have another go'.

"I can't walk away from it.

"I can build a squad, I just need a club to be honest and truthful with me.

"Bring it on. If someone wants to have a little gamble, a little try, a little tester, I'm happy, let's go for it.

"I know what I can bring to the table.

"My knowledge and experience of building a squad is second to none.

"I managed to get players to come down two leagues to play at Canterbury.

"Let's have another dabble."
