Eight teams vie for cricket crown

THE indoor cricket champions of Kent will be crowned on Sunday when eight teams battle for the title at the Ames-Levett sports centre in Canterbury.

Defending champions Canterbury, who reached the national semi-finals at Lord's last year, play the first quarter-final against Lordswood at 9.30am, followed by Elham Valley v Hayes, Broadstairs v Tunbridge Wells Borderers and Sevenoaks Vine v Betteshanger.

The semi-finals start at 2.30pm and the final at about 5.15pm.

The winners will represent Kent in a play-off away to the Sussex champions on February 22 for a place in the regional finals at Canterbury on February 29, with a place at stake in the the national finals at Lord's on Sunday, March 14.
