He said: “It was an honour and took me a bit by surprise as I was not expecting it at all. It was a real privilege to receive the cap today and was a proud moment.

“You always go into these things trying your best and to have the success like that is always great but the exciting thing is to see us performing as a team.

“It’s been great to have that personal success but to be playing the cricket we’ve been playing has been fun to be part of.”

Kent’s win against Somerset on Tuesday was their third in five days in the 50-over competition.

They won by 28 runs on Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method and they moved up to fourth in the South group.

Henry added: “We knew when we did lost those two games we weren’t far off. We had to get better in a couple areas and we’ve worked on that.

“Today (Tuesday) was a good performance with the ball and with the bat the guys were fantastic again.

“It was doing a bit and it was a bit wet under foot. We tried pitching the ball up as much as we could and I thought we bowled pretty well.

“As a unit the guys are stepping up and it makes a massive difference when you go into that death phase and that’s something we’ve managed to do.

“Joe (Denly) was looking fantastic with Heino (Kuhn). The rain was not ideal in the situation but they got us in a good position whether it had rained or not.”
