Kent have been docked one penalty point in the Bob Willis Trophy.

The deduction comes following their tense final-day win against Surrey at The Oval last month.

Kent won the game by 17 runs - thanks to four second innings wickets apiece from Darren Stevens and Matt Milnes .

But victory has come at a price as Kent's over rate slowed too much on the final day as they took their time setting fields and changing bowlers.

The club appealed against the decision on a number of grounds, including that they were not notified of the deduction until nearly 48 hours after the match was completed.

Kent say they are "disappointed with the outcome" but they "have accepted that the penalty will be imposed and that it is consistent with decisions made in previous circumstances".

Kent are second in the South Group of the Bob Willis Trophy, with one match to play - at home to Hampshire behind closed doors which gets under way on Sunday.
