The East Kent Mavericks are looking to develop their squad

AMERICAN football club the East Kent Mavericks are holding an open day for people to meet the team and join a training session.

Mavericks are keen to receive more interest and support from the area and beyond, especially for their new youth and junior teams.

The open day will be held on Sunday, January 14, from 10am at the Body and Mind Leisure Centre in Canterbury.

The session is aimed at attracting players to the junior, youth and senior squads. People attending the open day will learn more about the rules and techniques involved in the game.

All levels of fitness, ability and knowledge are welcome.

Chairman Glenn Lindley said: "To build on our inaugural year and to become a real force in the British American Football League, we need to develop a squad with real depth."
