A-level wait is over

The wait is finally over!

Students across Dartford have been collecting their A-level results.

Students were able to collect their results from 10.30am this morning.

Katrina Harris, a student at The Grammar School for Girls Wilmington, scored 587 out of 600 in Biology - one of the top 10 marks in the whole country.

The 18-year-old, from Laburnum Avenue, Dartford, secured three A-grades and a B and is going to study animal sciences at Nottingham University.

She said: "I couldn't believe it when I opened them up. I was quite confident but I wasn't sure what I was going to get. I worked really really hard."

At Leigh Technology Academy 49 per cent of its A Level were awarded with an A to C grade.

Casey Simmons, 18, of Dartford, walked away with B and C in double Business Studies, C in English Literature and D in General Studies. She is now off to Leicester University, to study Law and Criminal Justice.

She said: "I was convinced that I had failed."

Students at Dartford Grammar School in West Hill were also jubilant.

Of the 223 students 60 per cent of the students sat the International Baccalaureate and 40 per cent sat A Level. The school had a 99.4 per cent pass rate, with 64 per cent of all entries gaining A or B, or the IB equivalent.

Four students gained four straight As at A Level.
